Timeless White Oak
Slate-painted perimeter cabinetry set against a natural white oak island, with a glass-front display run for everyday china.
Walnut is the darkest of the hardwoods we work in and it does not need much help. Here the doors are flat slabs with no frame and no moulding, laid out so the grain carries across each bank of drawers and around the corners. The finish is clear rather than stained, so the colour in the room is the wood itself.
Long brushed brass pulls run most of the width of each drawer front, and the counters are a white quartzite with gold veining that picks the hardware up. A full-height cabinet wall hides the pantry and small appliances, and the island carries the same slab detail on all four sides.
